A Few Options For Selling Your Toy Collections

If you have been up in your attic and found a collection of old toys up there, you may be wondering if you should sell them or not. Some collections can be worth quite a bit of money if they are older or if you have the entire set. Of course, the issue is trying to decide where and how to sell them. If you started buying the toys as collectibles, you may have a bit of information as to how much they are worth. If you were given the toys as a child, you probably have no idea if they are worth anything or not. Here are a few options for selling your toy collection.

Online Auctions

One of the great things about technology is the ability to research things online. Spend some time looking up the different toys in your collection to find out approximately how much they are worth. Check auction sites. Watch how much people are willing to spend on the toys. Check the individual pieces and then check the collection as a whole. You can then decide if you want to list your items or go with a different option.

Collector Websites

It is amazing how many collectors create websites. Regardless of what you have, a quick search online is almost sure to find a site for it. This will put you in contact with people who sell their toys but also those who are currently buying. Join a few of these sites to see what is being sold and for how much. You can then let everyone on the different sites know what it is you have for sale.

Specialty Shops

Larger cities are sure to have a shop that specializes in older toys and new toy collections. You can often find these places online. Contact the owner to set up a time to meet and take your items. You can sell them outright to the shop or ask to sell them on consignment.

It is often best to do your research and check out all the different options for selling your toy collection before actually committing to one. Keep in mind that if you will be selling to someone online, whether through an auction or special website, you are going to have to prepare everything and then ship it to the buyer. Do not forget to add the shipping fees to the asking price or at least state the buyer will be responsible for the cost.
